  Polyethylene film (PE for short) is a thermoplastic polymer polymerized from ethylene. It has excellent mechanical strength, dielectric property and moisture resistance, and can maintain flexibility and chemical stability at low temperatures. The polyethylene film is colorless, tasteless, odorless, non-toxic and translucent. It does not react with moisture, grease, compounds, etc. It is insoluble in most solvents at room temperature and can withstand a low temperature of - 70 degrees. Good fusion, good permeability to oxygen and carbon dioxide, poor permeability to water vapor.

  PE film can generally be divided into:

  The density of low density polyethylene (LDPE) is about 0.92g/cm2; The transparency and heat sealing of LDPE film are good, which can prevent water and moisture; However, the tensile strength is low, the tensile elongation is large, and it is easy to wrinkle.

  The density of medium density polyethylene (MDPE) is about 0.93 ~ 0.94g/cm2; The properties are between high-density and low-density polyethylene.

  The density of high density polyethylene (HDPE) is 0.94-0.965g/cm2; The heat resistance and mechanical strength of high-density pe film are better than those of low-density pe film, and the tensile elongation is small. the film thickness is generally above 0.03 mm, but the transparency is poor.

  Generally speaking, with the increase of density, the mechanical properties and barrier properties will be improved accordingly, and the heat resistance and health will be good. Polyethylene with the same density has different properties due to different film forming processes. This is because the salivation method can cool quickly, with low crystallinity, high transparency and low turbidity, but the molecular arrangement tends to be irregular, so the barrier is small, that is, the transmissivity is large, the elongation is low, and the tear resistance is poor.

  Untreated pe film is difficult to print. This is because polyethylene is non-polar, chemically stable, insoluble in most solvents, has weak adsorption on ink, and is not firm after the printing is dried. Therefore, it is necessary to make printability treatment on pe film before or during printing.
