At this time, the zero dividing line on the movable ruler (movable sleeve) should be aligned with the datum line (long horizontal line) on the fixed sleeve, otherwise zero error will occur.

　　2. Hold the ruler frame with the left hand, and turn the coarse adjustment knob with the right hand to make the distance between the measuring rod and the measuring anvil slightly greater than the measured object. Put it in the measured object and turn it for protection. Protect the knob until it clamps the measured object until the ratchet makes a sound. Rotate the fixing knob to fix the measuring rod and take the reading.

　　Reading method:

　　1. Read fixed scale first

　　2. Read the half scale again. If the half scale mark is exposed, record it as 0.5mm; If the half scale mark is not exposed, it shall be recorded as 0.0mm;

　　3. Re read the movable scale (pay attention to evaluation). Recorded as n × 0.01mm;

　　4. The final reading result is fixed scale+half scale+movable scale+estimated reading.
