Bag in box packaging is a new term. Unlike our common packaging, BagInBox is a flexible inner bag made of multiple layers of film, sealed faucet switches, and an outer paper box, which can be used to hold liquid, semi liquid food, or industrial products. The packaging specifications of the bag in the box range from 1 to 20 liters, with 5 liters, 7 liters, and 10 liters being the most common. The packaging consists of a flexible bag body placed inside a hard box on the outside. In fact, the internal bag body is composed of two bags combined. The inner bag is used to hold liquids, while the outer bag serves as a barrier. The edges of the inner and outer bags are sealed together using thermoplastic sealing technology.
During the processing of the bag body, a nozzle is thermoplastic sealed onto the inner and outer bags, accompanied by a functional valve for filling and retrieving food. Usually, during non sterile filling, the bag filling machine in the box first opens the valve, vacuums the bag, and then fills the food. Then, the valve is re pressed, and after filling, it is sent to the conveyor belt. For sterile filling, at least two additional steps are required. Before filling, disinfect the nozzle position with chlorine dioxide; Before re pressing the valve to end the filling, fill the bag with inert gas to discharge some air from the pipe opening. In addition, in aseptic filling, the faucet is surrounded by hot steam, and the bag itself needs to be irradiated by gamma rays.
