Microbiological requirements for food packaging bags.

  There is no microbiological standard in food packaging countries. Only the following six items are checked. In order to keep food fresh and provide it to consumers safely and healthily during circulation, food packaging must be checked for safety. Our requirements for food packaging performance include:

  1. The formation of solvent residue packaging generally requires processes such as blow molding, printing and compounding. In order to improve printability and speed up printing, some solvents are generally added. After the "Lanzhou Incident", the problem of solvent residue has increasingly become the focus of packaging safety. The national standard stipulates that the solvent residue should be less than 10mg/m2, and the enterprise standard should generally be higher than the national standard and the total amount should be less than 7mg/m2. For the problem of solvent residue, gas chromatography can be used for detection and control.

  2. Barrier performance Barrier performance includes gas barrier and water barrier. Food spoilage is mostly caused by inappropriate barrier performance of selected materials. The selection of materials shall be based on different wrappings, shelf life, storage conditions, etc. The GB19741-2005 (Standard for Plastic Composite Film and Packaging Bag for Liquid Food Packaging) issued at the end of 2005 proposed to use GB/T1038 (Test Method for Air Permeability of Plastic Film) and GB/T1037 (Test Method for Water Vapor Permeability of Plastic Film and Sheet) to test the barrier of packaging film. Because the barrier test technology of materials is difficult, only Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. has independent development capability in China.

  3. Tensile property The film is subject to mechanical tension during packaging and external forces such as extrusion during transportation, which requires that the film must have sufficient tensile strength. For the composite film, it shall be ensured that there is no delamination between the film layers, which requires the composite film to have a high peel strength to avoid material delamination. The electronic tensile machine can be selected to control the tensile property and peeling property.

  4. Film smoothness The film surface shall have good smoothness to ensure smooth high-speed packaging. It shall be measured in accordance with GB10,006 (Measuring Method for Friction Coefficient of Plastic Film and Thin Film). Generally, the dynamic friction coefficient of the film surface is required to be between 0.2 and 0.4. It should be noted here that the surface properties of materials will change greatly with the increase of temperature. FPT-F1 friction coefficient/peel tester can be used to measure the dynamic and static friction coefficients of materials at extraordinary temperatures (room temperature - 99.9 ℃).

  5. Heat sealing performance The filling speed of modern filling machines is getting higher and higher, and problems such as missing sealing, false sealing, head sticking, wire drawing, and sealing crack are more likely to occur during the sealing process. This requires necessary test confirmation of the heat sealing temperature, time, and pressure of the heat sealing machine before automatic packaging to improve efficiency and avoid waste. It is worth noting that the whole process of most filling production lines from sealing to filling is relatively short. At this time, the sealing temperature has not dropped to room temperature, the strength is low, and leakage is very easy to occur. Therefore, the prediction of thermal viscosity strength (sealing strength at high temperature) is particularly important for the whole filling process. HTT-T1 thermal sealing tensile testing machine can be selected to solve the above problems.

  6. Ink performance Food packaging film has requirements for ink, in addition to its general adhesion with the substrate and abrasion resistance, it also needs to be able to withstand sterilization and boiling treatment, as well as frost resistance, heat resistance, etc. to ensure that ink will not fall off or coagulate during transportation and storage. It can be tested by printing combined fastness tester according to GB7707. For food safety, the AQSIQ implemented the mandatory product certification management system (i.e. 3C certification) for food packaging in 2005, and the products produced by enterprises must pass the inspection before being put on the market. Therefore, the author suggests that for packaging products and food manufacturers, the testing of food packaging materials must be carried out, and a well-known enterprise with independent development capability and professional production of packaging testing instruments should be selected.
